Intraoral Camera

During your visit to MI Smile Team, our dentist will want a detailed look at every part of your smile. But there is not much space in your mouth, and in order to give you a thorough exam, our office uses intraoral cameras in Sterling Heights, Michigan. An intraoral camera is a very small tool, no larger than a pen. Our dentist will use this camera to create high quality photos of every part of your smile, including hard-to-reach areas. Because of its size, it is very noninvasive and will not cause you discomfort. We can use this camera to find dental damage, tooth decay and signs of gum disease that cannot be easily seen with the unaided eye. It is also valuable during follow-up visits to check the results of your treatment.

While the camera is extremely valuable as a diagnostic tool, we can also send the images it creates to other dentists, specialists or health care professionals. We can also send those images to your insurance company if you need to file a claim. As an added bonus, the images are also displayed on a screen where you can see everything that our dentist can see, helping you better understand your smile needs.
